Kwok Wo Wan
Kwok joined the Hall Green branch of the Midlands Wing Chun
Kuen in August 1990, having trained for several years at one of the regional
branches. Kwok has accompanied Sifu Rawcliffe on several training trips to Hong
Kong, where he had the opportunity to train with Master Ip Chun and his
students. During these trips Kwok has spent many, many hours discussing and
translating for Sifu Rawcliffe and Master Ip Chun during their conversations.
He has also been translator for Sifu Rawcliffe whenever Master Ip Chun has
visited Sifu Rawcliffe in the UK.
Kwok was a member of the MWCK demonstration team at the 1st
world Ving Tsun conference in Hong Kong in November 1999 and attended the 2nd
world Ving Tsun conference in 2005 as a representative ofthe MWCK. Kwok can be
seen translating for Master Ip Chun on the video 'Chinese Master's of Kung Fu'.
Kwok is a registered instructor with the Midlands Wing Chun
Kuen, Ving Tsun Athletic Association in Hong Kong and a permanent member of the
Yip Man Martial Arts Association in Hong Kong . He has also earnt a level 2
coaches certificate through the BCCMA. |

Chris Bates (right)
Chris first trained Wado Ryu for almost 10 years, reaching 1st
Kyu. In february 1993 he joined the Hall Green branch of the Midlands Wing Chun
Kuen. Now a senior member and certified instructor, he has extensively assisted
Sifu Rawcliffe to give seminars and workshops as well as teach during the
regular class. Chris is the Midlands Wing Chun Kuen club secretary assisting
with the administration of the MWCK.
Chris has accompanied Sifu Rawcliffe on training trips to Hong
Kong in 1995, 1998, 2002 and again in 2004, to train with Grandmaster Ip Chun
and his students. For several years Chris had the tough job of teaching a self
defence class to 5th year girls as part of the Physical Education program at St
Martins independent day school for girls.
He is a registered instructor with the Midlands Wing Chun Kuen,
Ving Tsun Athletic Association in Hong Kong and a permanent member of the Yip
Man Martial Arts Association in Hong Kong. In the UK he holds a level 2 coaches
certificate through the BCCMA. |

Umar Choudhury
In 1997 Umar joined the Hall Green branch of the Midlands Wing
Chun Kuen. In August 2002 and again in August 2004 Umar joined Sifu Rawcliffe
to train in Hong Kong with Grandmaster Ip Chun and his students. In June 2005
he was certified as an instructor with the Midlands Wing Chun Kuen.
Umar now assists Sifu Rawcliffe teach at both the Birmingham
headquarters and the Solihull class.
Umar is a registered instructor with the Midlands Wing Chun
Kuen and the Ving Tsun Athletic Association in Hong Kong . In the UK he holds a
level 2 coaches certificate through the BCCMA..

Darren Garey
In 2001 Darren joined the Hall Green branch of the Midlands
Wing Chun Kuen. He is now certified to assist Sifu Rawcliffe in the running of
the classes.
Darren is a registered instructor with the Midlands Wing Chun
Kuen. He has also earnt a level 2 coaches certificate through the
BCCMA. |

Mark Poleon
Ive been involved in exercise, training and conditioning
for over 15 years. Whether personal training, sports related fitness or martial
arts, my life has revolved around physical and mental training. I started
Boxing training in 1991 and began Martial arts in 1997. The styles I have
studied include, but are not limited to Karate, Aikido, Praying Mantis Kung-Fu
and Escrima I started to take a serious interest in Martial Arts and
Self-Defence in 2001 when I started the art of Wing Chun, achieving instructor
level in 2006. My commitment to Wing Chun is such that twice (Aug 2002 and Aug
2004) I have accompanied Chief Instructor Sifu Shaun Rawcliffe to train in Hong
Kong with Grandmaster Ip Chun (Grandmaster Ip Chun, eldest son and senior
student of the late Grandmaster Yip Man) and his students. I have assisted Sifu
Rawcliffe teach at the Midlands Wing Chun Kuen Hall Green headquarters in
Birmingham and have accompanied him to give seminars and demonstrations around
the country.
I am a registered instructor with the Midlands Wing Chun Kuen
and the Ving Tsun Athletic Association in Hong Kong. In the UK, I hold a level
2 coaches certificate through the BCCMA and registered with the Sports Coach
UK.
I continue to assist Sifu Rawcliffe teach at the Birmingham
headquarters, and also teach Wing Chun to a class of students at Fitness First
Stirchley and privately in the Birmingham area.
With regards to fitness and personal training, my experience
through the last 3 years has help me acquire the necessary tools and skill set
to assist and help a variety of people. I have worked with a wealth of clients
ranging from those with weight related disorders, muscular atrophy, asthma,
diabetes, cardiovascular problems and musculo-skeletal ailments. I continue to
live and breathe health and fitness by currently working and gaining experience
through courses and other forms of education as I believe knowledge is
power. |
