| Chris Raybould
Sifu Chris Raybould is the
Instructor of the Staffordshire Wing Chun Kuen branch of the Midlands Wing Chun
Kuen Association (UK) run by his teacher Sifu Rawcliffe (the senior western
student and representative of Grandmaster Ip Chun). Sifu Chris Raybould began
his training in Wing Chun in 2001 at the Hall green branch of Midlands Wing
Chun Kuen, under Sifu Shaun Rawcliffe.
In October 2001 they attended
their first class with Sifu Shaun Rawcliffe of the Midlands Wing Chun Kuen. To
say that Chris was impressed is a gross understatement. So exceptional was Sifu
Rawcliffes skill and depth of knowledge, he was shocked at how his own
Wing Chun was lacking in many areas. Training with the MWCK has provided Chris
with many opportunities to train with many Wing Chun practitioners both at home
and abroad. He has attended many of Sifu Rawcliffes seminars in the UK,
as well as those hosted by other Wing Chun Sifus. In 2007, Chris
travelled to Hong Kong with his teacher, along with many other MWCK members, to
train with his Si-Gung Master Ip Chun and his students. In 2008, Master Ip Chun
made the trip to the UK, where Chris attended the weekend seminar co-hosted
with Duncan Leung, another student of Ip Man. 2010 saw a return to Hong Kong
with his Sifu, and still more of his MWCK classmates.
Sifu Chris Raybould now teaches
Wing Chun in Cannock as the Staffordshire Wing Chun Kuen (a representative
branch of Sifu Rawcliffe's Midlands Wing Chun Kuen Association). In keeping
with the philosophy of the Midlands Wing Chun Kuen the Staffordshire schools
will be kept reasonably small and family-like, representing Sifu Rawcliffe, the
Midlands Wing Chun Kuen and thereby Grandmaster Ip Chun.
Sifu Chris Raybould holds a level
2 BCCMA Coaching qualification in addition to his MWCK Instructors
qualification For more information see the
Staffordshire Wing Chun Kuen web site.
